Abstract: Language consciousness image is an interdisciplinary issue which arouses the concern of psycholinguistics, linguistic culturology and some other disciplines. With the development of political linguistics, the studies of the relationship between the political text and national language consciousness image have come to the fore. “Crimea”, as a Russian language consciousness image, bears a new connotation after going through three developing stages in history. Through the analysis of Russian President Putin's Address to the Federal Assembly in 2014, we find that the political discourse of a country's leader rebuilds “Crimea” as a language consciousness image. Crimea becomes the spiritual origin of the diversified and united Russia as a nation and as a state with centralized system. The language consciousness image “Crimea”, defined in Putin's Address to the Federal Assembly will influence Russians' understanding of Crimea. The contemporary Russian political text influences the development and changes of the language consciousness image of a nation, because there exists a covariant relationship between political text and language consciousness.
