Abstract:Abstract: For contemporary narratologists, one of the great concerns is about what relations feminist narratology has to rhetorical, cognitive, and unnatural narratologies. With this in mind, this article, on the basis of a close reading of Narrative Theory by Phelan et al., examines the differences and similarities among the above narratologies. It is concluded that the differences and similarities are bigger or smaller, as they are ascribed, by the roots, to their views on narratology (or narrative), and that feminist narratology is unique in that it has first made narratology the field for women to cry out for being more “unbound”.
Key words: feminist narratology; rhetorical narratology; cognitive narratology; unnatural narratology
