Abstract Abstract: As one of the prestigious international journals in the field of contrastive linguistics, Languages in Contrast has gone through 20 years since its publication. In this study, we collected information drawn from the 10 volumes of the articles published by this journal in the past ten years (2009-2018) to build a small corpus, and then used corpus tools to extract different types of relevant information. The results of our quantitative analysis revealed the objects, objectives, methods, research focus and changes of contrastive linguistics. In the meantime, by analyzing the representative achievements made in the past 10 years the present research attempted to predict the possible directions of the future development of contrastive linguistics. These analyses showed that the papers published in the journal were closely related to the development and the characteristics of the discipline, representing the newest changes of contrastive linguistics and greatly contributing to the advancement of contrastive linguistics.
