Abstract：Abstract：A remarkable feature of Faulkner’s works is southern narrative, and land is an essential theme of this narrative style. An analysis of this land theme will help to understand Faulkner’s writing intentions and thoughts. In his works, land not only has a crucial ecological significance, but also is a metaphor for the intense racial relationship, and, more importantly, it shows Faulkner’s reluctance to lose what they had in the culture of the southern society. Through analyzing the land theme from these three aspects, we could see Faulkner’s ecological holism view and his South America complex. An analysis of the complicated relationship between the southern narrative and the land theme contributes to a better understanding of Faulkner’s ecological views from diverse angles.
