Abstract:Abstract: As a representative of Neorealism writer of contemporary China, Liu Zhenyun, as well as his works, has undergone a superb transformation from “Quietness” to “Heteroglossia” in the process of being translated and disseminated among the English world. The analysis of this article reveals, truly, that western sinologists and the mainstream media in the English world basically follow the literary positioning of and evaluation over Liu Zhenyun in Chinese literary world. The fundamental difference, however, is that the English world, from the realistic consideration of literary dissemination, literary reception and commercial marketing, intentionally explores and magnifies the so-called political narrative, disaster narrative, female narrative, social crimes as well as the universally established “allegorical irony” and “ethical writing” in his writings, with an intention to shorten all the aesthetic distances between Liu Zhenyun and his western target readers.
