Abstract:Abstract: A certain anxiety pertaining to cultural identity arises from Chinese literary translation due to barriers to its overseas introduction. The origin of this anxiety can be traced back to the imbalance of the subject’s cultural identity configuration. In order to dispel the anxiety and promote the overseas introduction of Chinese literature, this paper argues that besides ensuring the quality of literary translation, we should place higher importance on the cultural identity of foreign readers, probing more into their needs and interests.
Key Words: literary translation; cultural identity; anxiety
