Abstract：Abstract: In the study of Morphological Case Theory within the framework of Minimalist Program, the mechanism of objective case assignment remains to be clarified in Japanese. This article discusses the objective case assignment domain and rules of Japanese morphological case by investigating Exceptional Case Marking Construction, Infinitive Construction, and Double-o Construction etc. I argue that the objective case in Japanese should be assigned within the minimal vP phase; and the reference relation between nouns in objective case assignment is subject to the biuniqueness condition on theta role. The findings of this article may provide a further support for the application of morphological case theory in Japanese.
