Stephen Owen (宇文所安) emphasizes the formal aesthetic features in his translation of the Tang poems. The exploration of his translation strategies of the formal symmetry of Tang poem contributes much to the study of his research on Tang poetry. Based on the analysis of his maintenance and reorganization of the formal symmetry translation of Tang poems, the author shows that Owen not only applied formal symmetry to the interpretation of the aesthetic value of Tang poetry, but also constructed formal symmetry as the aesthetic form in his translation.
