Abstract:Abstract: Kenneth Rexroth is the first translator who introduced Chinese women poets systematically into the Western culture. In his translations, Rexroth emphasizes the three themes of Guiyuan, nature and écriture féminine in Chinese women poets’ works. By analyzing the unique elements of his translations and his translation strategies, this article explores the reasons for his choice in the three themes and how Rexroth translated the Chinese women poets’ works creatively according to the needs of American cultural development after the Second World War and thus formed his literary theories. His choice and translation strategies satisfies his desire to explore the struggle against the dehumanization and alienation deep in the hearts of American youth after World War II.
