Abstract：Abstract: Aiming to find out Chinese ESL learners’ stress pattern and ways to improve their accent production accuracy, this paper takes nuclear accent as the research focus and investigates influences of the accent perception on production by applying two matching experiments, namely the accent perception and the accent production in oral reading speech. The results show that the accent perception is the main factor that influences the production and their consistency rate is close to 60%; their interaction is complicated. Correct perception is the main source of correct production and both are significantly correlated. Meanwhile, the types of nucleus and segmentation of intonation unit are also the factors to influence the accent production correctness.
