Abstract:Abstract: Under the conditions of the new era, being a crucial part of the systematic construction of philosophy and social science, the study of Russian language and culture in China needs to follow up the pace of the development of times. It must be rooted in the practices of Sino-Russian people-to-people exchange to fulfill both the strategic needs and practical requirements of the nation with clear consciousness of problem and the spirit of original creation. This paper begins with the overview of 4 major problems faced by Russian language and cultural studies in the new era. It attempts to propose 3 options for research approaches and 5 key trends for the development of Russian linguistic culturology in China. In our view, Russian language and cultural studies in the new era should adopt a development path with Chinese characteristics and Chinese style. It should also voluntarily respond to the practical needs of national development in the new era by innovating disciplinary theories and research methodologies of linguistic culturology, and also by actively engaging in problem-oriented fundamental studies and practical research, hence constructing the academic system and discourse system of Russian language and cultural studies with Chinese characteristics. By doing so, it will be possible to enhance the academic discourse power of China’s Russian language scholars in international academia.
