Abstract:Abstract: Currently, scholars at home and abroad regard poetry as a particular genre and therefore, approach the narrative studies of poetry more from perspectives of specific genre, for example, poetry as “trans-genre” or poetry as “interdisciplinary”, and less from a wider perspective of general narrative studies, therefore, confining themselves within some specific poetic texts. Taking the Chinese traditional poetic studies as the point of departure, the author of the present article tries to employ the basic Chinese traditional ideas of tao, li, and yuan, zong, constructing a unified framework that combines the basic ideas of yuan, zong and tao.
