Abstract Abstract: As a new discipline, educational linguistics has gradually drawn the widespread attention from domestic and foreign scholars. This paper, by virtue of knowledge domains visualization tool CiteSpaceⅢ, analyzes the research progress of educational linguistics at home and abroad from 1996 to 2016, and finds that there are not only some different focuses in the core fields and research hotspots, but also some discrepancies in the academic community and research paradigm in this field of study between China and abroad. The result proves it will be significant to attach importance to the academic team construction and strengthen the disciplinary ontology research of educational linguistics in China.
