In history, the Arab countries of North Africa have been invaded many times. And their social structure and social culture have undergone profound changes, which causes complicated language usage phenomena. In this paper, we take Tunisia as the research object, reviewing the language profiles of different periods in its history with the method of literature research, and statistically analyzing the current situation of the languages of Arabic and French in modern society by questionnaires. Then the problems and challenges faced by Arabic, are clarified with the purpose of exploring the future development trend of Arabic in Tunisia from the perspective of language planning.
