Abstract:Abstract: semantic wave is the dialogic focus between Legitimation Code Theory (LCT) and Systemic Functional Linguistics (SFL). LCT defines its semantic gravity and semantic density in terms of specific context, whereas SFL approaches from the textual dimension and proposes the notion of Mass and Presence to remould them as information flow. Based on a close analysis of contextual and textual dimensions, it is found that semantic wave in LCT needs an objective explicit identification criterion to tackle the problem of semantic parameters priority, whereas SFL remoulds them simply at the semantic stratum, demanding adequate affordance of the dynamic semantic profile of Semantic Wave. Thus, the fractal essence of Semantic Wave is identified in the present research as the inherently shared basis for both LCT and SFL and a tri-dimensional fractal model embodying context, semantics and lexicogrammar is constructed out of prioritizing semantic density in elaboration of fractal complexity of semantic wave, which may help bring forth an objective explicit identification device and further strengthen the integration between LCT and SFL on semantic wave.
