Abstract:Abstract: Since its introduction to China, ecofeminism has claimed increasingly important status in the fields of environmentalist criticism and gender studies. Nevertheless, the differentiation of the branches within ecofeminism, particularly cultural ecofeminism, and that of other closely related contemporary environmental movements, particularly social ecology and deep ecology, remain to be examined and addressed. Based on sample articles concerning ecofeminism published between 2001 and 2010 in China, this study investigates these problematized issues and suggests that ecofeminism, as it aims at further dismantling dualism and emphasizing interconnectedness, should attach more importance to a holistic perspective that will open up more valuable and promising space for its critical practice.
