Abstract:As an important figure in contemporary Scottish society, Robert Crawford is a representative of Scottish poetry and culture, and a supporter of Scottish Devolution. Unlike many other Scottish poets, Crawford uses images and themes of science in his poetry to represent and reflects on the meaning of Scottishness. By connecting science with Scottishness, Crawford brings together Scottish culture and globalization, and makes Scottish poetry more international, breaking the boundaries of traditional Scottish poetry. In this sense, Crawford’s poetry helps build a dialogue between Scotland and the rest of the world, and contributes to the cultural diversity in the contemporary world.
