Abstract:Language planning has become an important discipline in the field of applied linguistics after nearly 70 years of development. With the advent of the era of digital intelligence, language planning faces important changes in terms of paradigm shifts and methodological innovations. This paper combs and reviews the paradigm development and the historical evolution of research approaches to language planning. In addition, it analyzes the current applications of the data-driven paradigm in this discipline from the perspective of “language as resource”, and probes into the fundamental issues and research approaches of language planning, aiming to provide insights into language planning research in the era of digital intelligence.
