Abstract Abstract: The School of the “Critical Review” has been an influential literary-cultural school since 1920’s.Their translation criticism, however, has not received due attention. Their translation discourses are extension and logical development of their cultural criticism. Their attitude toward the traditional culture and the ways they chose for national salvation irrevocably predetermined their translation criticism and the criterion for translation evaluation; and thus the choice of the subject matters, translation strategies and the forms and styles of the final products.
