Abstract:Abstract: All kinds of translational standards, from translation standards to translation criticism standards have been in pursuit. The aims for translation criticism are comprehensive, objective and scientific. Therefore, this article begins with the definition of “standard”, translation standards and translation criticism standards, and then the subjectivity for the traditional discussions and the objective development of translation criticism. Based on all these, we try to put forth a model for Translator Behavior Criticism. In order to test its effectiveness, we justify it by the categorized “culture-literature” continuum. We argue the standards of translation criticism should be scientific and operative as suggested by the definition of “standard.”
Key words: translation criticism standards; a model for Translator Behavior Criticism; the “culture-literature” continuum
